At first, Diane Farley was just a bit forgetful. But when her behavior became concerning, her family embarked on a journey of hope, despair, disappointment, and ultimately acceptance. This is Diane’s story, told by her younger sister, Renae Farley, who was aboard for the whole roller-coaster ride after Diane was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Always seeking a happy ending, Renae waded through insurance forms, dealt with doctors and holistic practitioners, and did everything she could to ease Diane’s growing bewilderment. The sadness of this story will tug at your heartstrings, but you will also be inspired by its message of the power of unconditional love.
All We Need Is A Happy Ending eBook Renae Farley
This is a wonderful book on an unpleasant subject: the onset of Alzheimer's Disease, its devastating effects on a loved one, and coping with its progression. While it's called "Diane's Story", it is also Renae's story, told in her own words--and the story of thousands of people who have found themselves in her and Diane's unexpected situation. It's a narrative that will not only resonate with them but, more fundamentally, it is a call to action for the rest of us. Renae and Diane left no stone unturned in their mission to halt and reverse Diane's disease. In the end it proved futile but, as the book's title suggests, it does not always have to be that way. As there was throughout the progression of Diane's illness, there is still hope. But for that hope to be realized takes more research, which takes a greater commitment and more dollars. Anyone who reads this account and cannot sympathize with those who have Alzheimer's and those who love them and try desperately to help them through their decline would have to question their own humanity. Most poignantly, at the end of the day it could be anyone of us...at any time.Product details

All We Need Is A Happy Ending eBook Renae Farley Reviews
Beautiful story, read it in one day! Fast shipping.
For anyone who is dealing with a loved one with Alzheimer's disease, this is a must read! And for those who aren't, but enjoy a great love story, this is for you! Although the author believes she wrote the book about her sister's last great love while in the downward spiral of Alzheimer's disease, I found it to be an amazing love story about a sister who would do anything to help her "big" sister fight this terrible disease with dignity and grace.
An amazing story of love, generosity and total caring of one sister for another. Renae did everything right! I learned so much about the disease, but more importantly about how determined and diligent this love was manifested in the way the author researched, studied, and worked so hard to find the Happy Ending.
The book is written in an interesting style, with good information, but the compassion and caring comes through, and keeps the reader involved and wanting the same happy ending. Congratulations, Renae - a great book, and a must read.
I loved this book for many reasons. I know the author well and have fond memories of all her family. She brings up so many controversial topics that introduce new dialogue to our daily lives. I too, have struggled with a medical system that is corrupt and inefficient. Pharmaceutical companies and doctors are making money off of people's miseries and confusion as to what to do for their loved ones. We all need to get educated and stop the madness.
I am astounded by the strength and perseverance Renae had and continues to have in her life. She is a role model for all of us and she has opened the gates for some heavy discussions about life and death. Kudos to her and her soul mate, RJ!
Follow a journey into the unknown. Ask yourself if you could do it and what choices you would make along the way to the long good-bye. This story is an intimate look into early-onset Alzheimer's disease and one woman's passion to find a cure and another woman's unexpected love story. A must-read for all, especially if facing a similar circumstance with a loved one.
There is such a need for a book like this! Renae lifts the curtain and tells the personal story of the progression of Alzheimer's disease the way it is, with its confusion, its humor, its compassion, and its raw love as she cares for her sister Diane. When my mother was living with Alzheimer's, and therefore when our WHOLE family was living with it, we had no idea what to expect. Renae's loving story will lift you up, knowing you are not alone if you are going through it too. Her writing style is as if she were talking directly to you. I couldn't put it down. Thank you, Renae, for sharing your story from your heart. Everyone who reads it will be touched.
The power of positivity, the reality of science, and the troubles with bureaucracy all come into play in this heart wrenching story riddled with unexpected life turns.
In this book, the author shares the journey of her sister, Diane, thrown into the trenches of dealing with early onset Alzheimer's disease...as life went on.
Our family has experience with Alzheimer's and dementia. They are complex, life-altering diseases with much that science and medicine have yet to untangle. For the families, it is disheartening, scary and threatening to the strength of their love and the power of their memories. Sometimes, there is guilt as life for you goes on, especially as they grow farther and farther away from who they used to be.
The author does a great job, with humor and candor, of sharing this true story while keeping a positive mindset. It has just the right amount of personality to draw you in and make you feel like you are there; rooting for the Farley sisters and joining with the author in the quest to champion for her sister.
If you find yourself in a similar situation or want to better understand someone who is coping with a friend or loved one with Alzheimer's, this book will bring you into the lives of an engaging family with a beautiful sisterly bond.

We also sent a copy to a family member, who paid for their own book, but does not have a computer. 's rules would not let us submit a separate review

I could relate to this. My husband had Alzheimer's, although not early onset, and went through a lot of the same struggles and medication. This was a beautiful, easy-to-read story of a sister's devotion and love.
